General Uniform Policy Information
Dress Code means a set of parameters that describes acceptable and unacceptable student apparel to ensure the health and safety of all students and creates a positive learning environment; and refers to the District-wide and/or School Specific Dress Codes.
Section 1001.43(1) (b), Fla. Stat., authorizes the Board to require uniforms to be worn by the student body or impose other dress-related requirements.
Tops
All tops must be Solid colors (no stripes/designs)
- Uniform Polo (collared)
- Button down collared shirts/blouses
- Belvedere school polo
- Solid sweater, cardigans, no hoodies
- Solid jumper/dresses
- Belvedere issued T-shirt
- College logo shirts on Fridays only
Bottoms
All bottoms must be solid navy blue, black, or khaki
- Pants, shorts, or skirts
- Jeans may be worn on Fridays only (no holes or designs)
- Spandex pants, spandex/bicycle shorts, and leggings may not be worn alone. They may be worn under skirts.
- Athletic shorts or sweatpants may not be worn.
Shoes
- Sneakers, loafers or other closed toed shoes required
- Students should be able to tie their own laces
- Open toed/back shoes such as flip flops, sandals, Crocs, heels are not permitted
- Shoes with wheels are not permitted.
- Sneakers should be work on PE days
General Apparel Guidelines
- Clothing must clean, without holes, and fit appropriately- not too loose, not too tight
- Shoulders, midriffs, backs and undergarments may not be exposed
- Bottoms should sit at the waist and cover the thigh until right above the knee (not to exceed 2-3 inches above the knee).
- Accessories that would distract from learning (bulky headbands or other headwear, excessive/play jewelry, purses, etc.)
- Any clothing or backpacks with inappropriate language, images, or pictures
- Fanny packs and purses may not be worn - must be kept in backpack.
